ABOUT US

Modern facilities in an historic setting
Having enjoyed excellent (and not so excellent!) B&Bs over the years we thought it about time we had a go ourselves. Thank you to all the B&Bs we have stayed at, you have given us the inspiration for what we now offer.

A warm welcome to Cinderfield. If the weather is fine enjoy our gardens we have several outdoor sitting areas as well as the breakfast room so if the sun is out why not enjoy your breakfast al fresco?

Chris is happy to share her love for garden and plants and Wilson.... well Wilson will share anything he can get hold of. Yes we have a dog and he's very friendly!

We are non-smoking and, sorry, do not take pets.

We know the area very well and are happy to share our knowledge and make suggestions for days out if you are staying overnight or a few days.

For a small charge we can supply a packed lunch and are happy for you to order an evening take away from any of the many local restaurants, free use of our dining room and plates etc. Whatever your preference there is a wide variety of take aways, restaurants, bistros and Inns just a short drive or even walk away.

Telford and Ironbridge offer a wide variety of activities. Locally we have a very active Darts league with many matches played at the Travellers Joy (about 250yds), Horsehay Bowls (around 400yds), Horsehay Golf Course (1/2 mile), Off Road Motorsport (around 1 1/2 miles) Angling on the River Severn and many local ponds and lakes (subject to license etc), Sports Halls and Swimming baths (2 miles) we are just off the National Cycle route (NCR 45 Mercian Way passes through Ironbridge just 3 miles away). A litle further a field finds the famous Ironbridge Gorge an it's museums (3 miles), Telford Town centre for retail therapy (about 3 miles), Much Wenlock birthplace of the modern olympics (4 miles) a little further afield brings in our countytown, Shrewsbury (15miles) RAF Cosford Air Museum(10miles) and the Shropshire Hills (5miles+) and much much more.

What's happening down the Gorge... http://www.ironbridge.org.uk/
The Ironbridge Gorge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  On a budget?  Parking is cheap and there is also a park and ride throughout summer if you just want to see the world famous bridge and take in the air along the river, perhaps enjoy a drink and a meal?  Purchase a visitors Passport to dig deeper into the local industrial history at the home of the Industrial Revolution and tour the many sites.  The kids, young and old, will love Engenuity and the main Blists Hill sites.  A 5 minute drive or an hours walk through the woods will get you there.

The RAF put heart and soul into this fantastic museum set out in four massive hangers so a year round experience. If you hung airfix models from the ceiling as a child wait and see what the RAF lads have done with bombers and fighters!  Some unique aircraft and some very familiar ones too...  and FREE admission.

A fab day or half day canoeing down the River Severn for young and old just 20 mins drive http://www.canoeuk.com/
I took my lads for a half day trip downstream one summer, which while not quite "The River Wild", was a superb day taking in the wildlife and mastering the canoe with lunch along the way.  We stayed afloat, one or two did not, but the river was warm and no one seemed to mind! The return trip by the Severn Vally Steam Railway is not to be missed.

Are Steam trains your thing? http://www.svr.co.uk/
A super run following the River Severn from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster with a real ale welcome at Bridgnorth Station - watch out for special events like the "1940s weekend" in June.  Bridgnorth is a town steeped in history and site of one of the lesser known "battles" of the Civil War.
